This is an 1880's French hutch made of oak. The piece measures about 10 feet tall and is 54" wide. The wax finish needed to be redone and the top of the piece had to be totally refinished. I also repaired the left support post that was broken . The color of this piece is a dark walnut. To do the finish work and repairs required approximately 10 hours.
This is an Armoir made of walnut. The beautiful burl cut is gorgeous. This piece was built in the mid-1800's possibly earlier. It weighs very much and was difficult to move. The repairs were to replace the hinges so the doors would hang properly and close, reglue several joints, dowel a rear leg, cut out termite damage, and rewax. The total time for all this exceeded 12 hours since the joints were doweled through making regluing with out damage quite difficult.
This lamp table is walnut and is an American piece. The date is c.1930. this job was a total refinish in a red mahogany/dark walnut. When this piece arrived it was in shambles requiring reveneering the top and total reglue. The left rear leg was broken and repaired. The finish is a catalyzed laquer as the customer wanted a strong finish for daily use, it is matte over gloss for effect. This took 9 hours.
This petite table is also a thirties era. It was totally refinished and the top was reveneered. The table is Mahogany, with a brown mahogany coloring. The lacquer is a catalyed lacquer and is semi-gloss. The center support was broken when it arrived to us and now looks very close to perfect. This table took about 7-8 hours.
